Imagine Magazine

Graphic Design, Print Design, Typography

Imagine is a (fictional) magazine geared towards children with a creative mind. Each quarterly publication features unique

fantasy characters such as fairies, mermaids, and dragons. The publications have stories to increase the children’s reading vocabulary, recommendations for books and movies, a color your own fantasy page, and crafts that relate to the fairy tales. This is a publication for children to stretch their brains and creative skills, designed to get them imagining, thinking, and dreaming. The overall personality of the magazine is one of fun learning. The creative side of a child’s mind is usually lost in adult-hood. Imagine exercises this aspect so that it isn’t lost. Popular Science: Rebranding

Graphic Design, Print Design, Typography

This assignment called for the rebranding of a magazine. I chose to give Popular Science a little more oomph through the use of exciting typography and lively colors. All rights for imagery and copy are reserved to their official copyright holders.

Viaggio: Travel Italy Magazine

Graphic Design, Photography, Typography

A fictional magazine made to satisfy the common urge to travel and explore. Viaggio gives readers the chance to experience the many wondrous scenes and history of Italy from the comfort of their own homes. Pictures were captured by me, while copy is reserved to their official copyright holders.

The Science of Type

Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Typography

This typographic rule book is designed as a handy guide for young designers. The small 8.5in by 6.5in hand bound publication can be carried easily and consulted for quick reference. With the book’s e-pub version for the ipad, young designers can quiz themselves. An interactive feature allows them to guess correct answers and exercises their understanding of the material.

Spectacle: a magical performance in your own living room! Spectacle is a television network that brings the circus to you, allowing you to view wonders from the comfort of your own couch. This tri-fold brochure showcases three exciting programs that air on this channel: Death Defying Acts, Illusions, and Talent Show. The objective of this consumer brochure is to promote a new cable TV channel of my own creation and to get the television-viewing public to watch programs on this new channel. A deck of playing cards made entirely from the characters of the typeface Clarendon. These cards represent a royal theme, with rich tones and jewel accents.

Rebranding: The Cupcake Emporium

Branding, Graphic Design, Typography

A re-branding of Mable Francis Potter’s "Cupcake Emporium" in Savannah, Georgia. This design was created to represent the eclectic, whimsical and quirky atmosphere that the bakery portrayed. I chose to design a logo that is reminiscent of the many delicious cupcakes the store had on display, but not in the most obvious way. The tail of the “e” wraps around the “k’s ascender in a fashion similar to twirling icing designs while the circular shape of the logo represents a cupcake’s base. Coasters, gift cards, and t-shits were then designed to further the brand.

The Bug's Life

Digital Art, Graphic Design

A timeline created for the Volkswagen Beetle, featuring an illustrated old-fashioned model and a design that is reminiscent of a speedometer.

Type and Image Calendars

Graphic Design, Digital Art, Typography

Type meets image through Fusion, Inversion, Separation and Fragmentation. Since a calendar is all about time, my intention is to show the combination of times through these four type and image relationships. The unique combination of modern style and antique imagery creates a connection through time.

Conroe Art League

Graphic Design, Digital Art, Typography

Conroe Art League is a nonprofit organization of vibrant artists and art lovers. The art league began in 1963 with seven local artists and has grown to over 250 members. Their branding was a little outdated. With a little help, their logo became more realistic and modern.
